Guru Purnima is a special occasion to express heartfelt gratitude to the teachers and mentors who illuminate our paths with wisdom, knowledge, and guidance. This sacred day is dedicated to Sage Veda Vyasa, revered as the Guru of Gurus, for his monumental contributions in compiling the Vedas and authoring the Mahabharata.
At The Emerald Heights World School, we celebrated Guru Purnima with great reverence and enthusiasm. Students from all classes actively participated in the celebration, delivering heartfelt speeches that highlighted the invaluable role of teachers in shaping young minds. The programme also featured soulful songs and captivating classical dance performances — each one a tribute to the guiding lights in our lives: our Gurus.
As beautifully expressed by Sant Kabir Das ji in his timeless doha:
“गुरु गोविंद दोउ खड़े, काके लागूं पाय ।
बलिहारी गुरु आपनो, गोविंद दियो बताय ॥”
